Congratulations to Michael McGarvie who was awarded the British Empire Medal in the New Year’s Honours list for his services to local history in Frome, Somerset.
In 2019, Michael was awarded the BALH Personal Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to local history in the Frome area of Somerset.
Michael served as Hon. Treasurer of SDNQ from 1992 to 2007, having joined the SDNQ Editorial Committee in 1975.
